You don’t have to figure this out all on your own.

I’m Kim, (she/her), a licensed professional counselor and supervisor in South Carolina. I am a values-driven counselor & business executive who has amassed significant clinical and healthcare leadership experience. With a career in behavioral health that began in community mental health, my experience encompasses outpatient, inpatient and residential settings, as well as, growing and selling my private practice. A fulfilling part of my career has been working with clients, supervisees and teams to empower change.

In my executive experience, I managed multi-state health practices with direct responsibility for growth, planning, execution, profit and loss, operations, and strategic business development. I led teams of clinicians and office administration in more than 25 outpatient offices while growing businesses across the Southern Region of the United States. With this experience comes an acute ability to identify quality improvements based on operational imperatives that impact clinical healthcare delivery without losing the focus on client care.

For more than 20 years, I have designed healthcare business policies & procedures aimed at:

  • Improving patient lives

  • Reducing provider burnout

  • Fortifying the financial health of the organization

  • Walking with clients on their wellness journey

  • Guiding supervisees on their professional journey

How I can help

I specialize in supporting your personal and professional growth.

  • In today's fast-paced world, finding the time and space for self-care can be a challenge, especially for women juggling multiple roles and responsibilities. Online counseling offers a flexible, convenient, and effective way to prioritize your mental health and well-being.

For many women, the idea of sitting in a waiting room can be daunting. Online counseling offers a private and secure environment where you can speak freely without fear of being seen or overheard. This can be particularly beneficial for discussing sensitive topics and fostering a sense of safety and trust.

Prioritizing your wellness is an act of empowerment. Online counseling helps you carve out dedicated time for self-care amidst a hectic schedule. By investing in your well-being, you’ll find yourself better equipped to handle challenges with clarity and confidence.

  • Looking for a fresh perspective on a case? With training in DBT, Trauma Informed Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and over 20 years in hands-on clinical care service delivery, Kim will join you to plan for positive outcomes, risk mitigation, and resourcing.

Need a case review with an in-depth analysis of client histories, symptoms, and previous treatment approaches? This holistic review ensures that all aspects of the case are considered, leading to more effective outcomes and personalized care strategies.

  • With over 20 years of direct clinical service delivery and a background in various therapeutic modalities, Kim offers expertise, support, and mentorship to help you develop your skills and confidence as a clinician.

Incorporating guidance on ethical decision-making, boundary setting, and professional conduct, helps you build a solid foundation for your career.

Would you like to feel confident in your compliance with regulatory requirements? Managing risk is a key component of professional practice. Supervision with Kim includes training on documentation, confidentiality, informed consent, and other critical aspects of legal and ethical practice to help you meet licensure standards and protect your clients and yourself.

Being a therapist is rewarding and challenging. Kim understands the demands of balancing work, business operations, and personal life. Flexible scheduling options are available to make it easier for you to attend supervision sessions that fit your lifestyle.

  • You’re ready to expand into a group practice or perhaps you are interested in starting a new internship or LPCA program but aren’t sure where to start? Do your operations or practice income seem stagnant and inefficient? You’ve stared at spreadsheets and read so many articles you have a headache but no answers? Business consultation is here to meet your company’s unique journey. Meet with Kim once for some brainstorming and specific solutions or several times to work a focused plan.

How I work

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change.”

~Carl Rogers

The curious paradox is like a puzzle that seems strange at first but makes sense when you think about it. It says that when I fully embrace and accept myself, flaws and all, that's when I become open to change and growth.

Imagine you have a messy room. If you keep denying that it's messy or trying to hide it, you won't feel motivated to clean it up. But when you finally accept that it's messy and acknowledge it without judgment, you become more willing to take action and tidy up.

Similarly, when we accept ourselves for who we are, with all our imperfections and struggles, it creates a sense of peace and self-compassion. And from that place of self-acceptance, we're more open to learning, growing, and making positive changes in our lives. It's like giving ourselves permission to be imperfect and embracing the journey of authenticity without harsh self-criticism.

This Notice of Privacy Practices describes how we may use and disclose your protected health information to carry out treatment, payment, or health care operations, and for other purposes that are permitted or required by law. It also describes your rights to control your protected health information. “Protected Health Information’ (PHI) is information about you, including demographic information that may identify you and that relates to your past, present or future physical or mental health condition and related health care services. (For instance, we may leave a message on your voice mail, send mail to your address, or leave a reminder with another person at the telephone number you provide). We may provide your PHI to a family member, friend, or other individual who you indicate is involved in your care or responsible for the payment for your health care, unless you object in whole or in part. Retroactive consent may be obtained in emergency situations.

    Notice effective 1/1/24

  • IA Good Faith Estimate protects clients from unexpected medical bills. This act was passed by Congress in 2022, is for those who do not have insurance or are not using insurance to pay for their counseling. You have the right to a “good faith estimate” to ensure you are aware of your costs. Kim will send you, your individual good faith estimate via the client portal. You are the decision maker of what works for you.

A Good Faith Estimate is not intended to serve as a recommendation for treatment or a suggestion that you may need to attend a certain number of counseling sessions. Counseling is a personal process that changes as we work together. The number of sessions or the estimated cost of services may change over time based on your specific goals.

Should your needs change during treatment, Kim will provide you a new, updated Good Faith Estimate to reflect the changes to treatment, and the accompanying cost changes.

You may contact our facility to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate. You can ask them to update the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.

The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract between you and Kim. It does not obligate you to maintain treatment from Kim or require you to participate in all services listed. Counseling with Kim is voluntary and you may stop or pause services at any time.

You have a right to initiate a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds $400 beyond the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate. If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill. There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process for an agency review.

To learn more about your rights or get a form to start the process, go to www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at (800) 985-3059.

Be sure to keep a copy of this Good Faith Estimate in a safe place or take pictures of it.

You are encouraged to speak with Kim about any billing concerns. tem description
