Move past your past

Trauma therapy for women in Charleston & across South Carolina

You notice you’re feeling like…

“Sometimes I just shut down emotionally. It's like I've built a wall around myself to protect me from feeling anything at all. I know it's not healthy, but it's the only way I know how to cope with the overwhelming intensity of my emotions.”

“I’m consumed by guilt and shame, constantly questioning whether I could have done something differently or if I did something wrong. It's like I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, and I can't seem to shake it off no matter how hard I try.”

“I’m ready to stop feeling like I'm trapped in this endless cycle of thoughts and memories. I don't know how to break free from it. I just want to feel normal again, but I don't even know what that means anymore.”

“I feel like I'm constantly on edge, like something bad is going to happen. I don’t have confidence in my own decisions. Even the smallest things can trigger intense fear and anxiety, leaving me feeling helpless and exhausted. I’m wishing I could find a way to heal, to reclaim my life and my sense of self. “

Trauma may have been a part of your journey, but it is not your destination.

Just like you, everyone’s Trauma and life journey is unique

Generally speaking, trauma may be defined as an intense emotional experience that overwhelms a person's ability to cope, often resulting in emotional, physical, or social effects. Trauma can be triggered by a wide range of events, including accidents, natural disasters, violence, abuse, or other deeply distressing experiences. It can be a single incident event or a pattern of circumstances that we lived through. Sometimes we may not even be aware of how a situation impacted us until it interferes in our daily life. It can leave us feeling scared, helpless, and overwhelmed, impacting our relationships, thinking, sleep, work, and overall well-being.

Trauma does not have a timeline, discriminate or care how strong you are , what you do for a living or how educated you are. It just happens and at it’s core, the feelings we have are there to warn and protect us from further harm. Our natural tendencies go into overdrive and without awareness and the skills to regulate our bodies, this system becomes unhelpful and debilitating.

Since your trauma experience is unique, your recovery and healing path should be tailored to meet your needs, go at your pace and affirm your culture and lifestyle. My goal is to walk along side you as you discover yourself again on your journey to you.
